FILM
John’s first starring role was in a film called “Oh God!” which also starred George Burns. At the time, “Oh God!” was the highest grossing comedy ever. The film has stood the test of time and is still well received by critics and audiences alike.
The director, Carl Reiner was impressed with John’s ability to integrate complicated directions quickly, noting that even some seasoned actors can take up to an hour to integrate a direction into their work. Reiner would give John a direction, John would think for a moment, and then say, “I got it”. And he did.
